1262 Indoor and outdoor antennas on the same AP?

I have a metal shop that needs wireless indoors and outdoors.

Will it work if I mount the 1262 inside with 4 indoor antennas mounted inside the building and 2 outdoor antennas mounted outside?

You do not want the antenna configured that way, the multiple antennas is for diversity and beamforming. If you need to cover both then you might need two APs. That is if the ap inside doesn't provide enough coverage outside.

Won't work effectively.

Thank You. We will get two.

Just remember its best practice to keep the antennas a multiple of no more than 4 wavelengths if your using external and not the dipoles. A goo measurement is the distance between the RP-TNC connectors on the AP.

What are you trying to do?

Providing wireless service isn't as simple as "I'll get two of them, thanks".

1.  How big is the area (inside and outside)?

2.  What kind of service?  Voice?  Data?  Video?

3.  What protocol?  802.11 a/b/g/n

4.  What speed are you expecting?

5.  What clients do you have?  Smartphones/Tablets?  Laptops?  Bar-code scanners?

6.  How high from the ground will you be installing the WAPs?

7.  What are the walls made out of?  Wood, concrete, bricks, metal?

8.  What are the shelves made out of?

9.  Wireless site survey?  Have you done one?
