Can anyone tell me why these AP's go into error disable and the only way to get them working is to run a no spanning-tree portfast bpduguard on the switch. Then reboot the switch and it all come up fine.

Hi If you mean IOS then I'm down grading the IOS from 16.03.06 to 03.06.06. as per customer requirements. Do you think this could be the issue.

Hi someone has told me that the AP by default is sending bpduguard out so the switch is shutting the port down. The port on the switch is configured as a switch port and would need to be a trunk port. Not sure about this one any help.
The AP's are installed and high up on the wall unable to get console cable to AP to disable the bpduguard. The only connection I have is the ethernet cable. As this AP is ready to go onto a controller is it possible to ssh to it though the ethernet and disable bpduguard.
