i want to know 1600 series Access Point support the below or not :-

1)Support up 64 Users
2)VPN pass-through support
3)Wireless Distribution System
4)Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) 64-bit, 128-bit encryption

Hi Peter,

will you use this AP as standalone or  with Controller ?

1. Normally, the AP is a shared medium and acts as a wireless hub, the performance of each user decreases as the number of users increases on an individual AP. Ideally,as rule of thumb not more than 25 clients should associate with the AP because the throughput of the AP is reduced with each client that associates to the AP.

2. VPN connection will work with this AP.

3. WDS supported.

4. yes, It supports.

First of all thanks for the replay ,

If i will use the AP point with the controller it will support 64 users.

Use 2-3 APs if you have more then 60 users.

*** You don't need WDS in this case(If you have controller).

AP2600 supports 200 associated clients per radio, thus max = 400 per AP, but recommended 30 active users per radio

4) Do you still have a very old client that does not support WPA?

Use WPA instead of WEP. WEP does not offer any security!

Any kind of WPA is better then WEP.
