Hi,

can anyone help me to resolve this issue, so I have this message from my AP 1832I-E-K9 " waiting for uplink IP address and reachable default gateway" I set the DHCP server on the Controller 5508 for AP and I configured port of the controller as the trunk and a port of AP's as access to VLAN Mgmt, I can ping from CLI of Access point on WLC but this error is still impure

Thank,

The AP requires at least 8.1.121.0 to run.  So I would upgrade to 8.2.121.0  which is the latest version of 8.2 code.

upgrade code to WLC and AP should join and automatically upgrade.

Hi,

Since you setup a trunk interface for the WLC did you include the Native VLAN ?

switchport
 switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan ( vlan for Mgmt interface )
 switchport mode trunk

Hi,

thank for yout replay, i don't change the native vlan so my native vlan is Vlan 1,

configuration port for WLC is:

Switchport mod trun

configuration port for AP

switcheport mode access

switchport access vlan < ID mgmt >

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are asking ?

no i don't change the native Vlan,

-The configuration of port which connects the WLC is:

 interface GigabitEthernet0/1
 switchport mode trunk

 descrep Connected-To-WLC
 end

The configuration of port which connects the AP's is:

interface FastEthernet0/1
description Connected_TO_APs
switchport access vlan 120
end

my problem is the AP can't get an IP address or can you show howa to affect an ip adresse static like commande lwapp ap ip address aa;aa;aa;aa

this command dosn't work anymore

you are correct the new AP's don't support the lwapp command

I don't have a new AP in front of me. ( I will tomorrow).  but if I recall correctly its something like

IP Controller xx.x.x.x   Cisco_wlc-133

you have to use the IP address and DNS name for the AP to join

thnak you for your reponse, I think that I also have a problem of compatibility because the IOS which I hade in the WLC 5508 is 7.4.121.0 and the IOS in AP 1832i is 8.1. Then if I upgrade the WLC with IOS 8.1.131.0 what is that goes work?

The AP requires at least 8.1.121.0 to run.  So I would upgrade to 8.2.121.0  which is the latest version of 8.2 code.

upgrade code to WLC and AP should join and automatically upgrade.
