Hi All,
I have a case about Wifi in warehouse. The client need to have wifi solution for their Bar Code Scanner(802.11g) to check the inventory in the warehouse, the items in the shelf can totally block the wifi signal as the shelf is as tall as ceiling and so the ideal solution is to put many APs between two Shelf.
Here is 8 x 1702i with 2504 to provide 1 x SSID:
However, is it possible to have 2 x 2702E with external antenna to replace the 1702i solution?
Here is 2 x 2702E with 2504 to provide 1 x SSID:
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ronald

No it won't work.
By using the cable, the longer the cable used the higher the signal loss. So there's a high chance the antennas won't be pumping high enough power to be seen at the far end.

Surely you can't discount it straight off the bat without knowing the cable roll lengths, Leo? That said, omni-directional won't work so he'd need to use something that is more higher gain and directional.. . what would you say to 2 of these per 1702E AP with a coaxial lead of less than 5m?

Or in a perfect world 1 of these with 1 1702E per shelf row would be worth scoping?
