Someone ask me to recommend cisco ac wave 2 ap that can handle big size file transfer (>1GB).
I like to check 2800 and 3800 series in ccw, but not appear its sku in ccw.
(1) Why not appear in ccw?
(2) for this requirement what would be your choice?

Wave 2 is "bleeding" edge. Are you sure you have clients that will support it?
The 3700 with 802.11ac wave 1 is getting pretty good now.
We are using a 2702 in our office. I just did a test copying an ISO and was getting an average of 18MB per second. So at that rate I should be able to do a 1GB file in just under a minute.
My notebook also has a very average 802.11ac card in it. A better WiFi NIC should get higher performance again.

Thanks Philip.
Meanwhile there will be small amount of ac wave 2 clients, but may be more and more later.
The reason why I choice wave 2 is (1) price and (2) performance. I think Cisco is trying to promote wave 2 AP like 1832. Also 1702I and 1832 are almost same in list price on ccw.
Actually I read some documents that say wave 2 make better user experience not only wave 2 client but legacy client (a, b, g, n) because of antenna, mu-mimo, and beamforming.
By the way, how many connected users when you get 18MB per second?

Just saw your second question. It was probably just 8 connected people when I got that transfer rate.

In my opinion, the Cisco 1702 is superior to the 1832.
The 1702 has custom Cisco silicon in it, and handles trickier WiFi environments. The 1830 series has major features missing like CleanAir technology.
The only advantage, in my book, with the 1832 is that is has the integrated WLC which makes it great for small deployments.

Here is a god link for things the 1830 series can't do.

Many Thanks Philip for your information.
Let me compare again between x7xx and x8xx series AP based on no budget constraint, just best performance.
