2802i U-Boot issue

craiglebutt
Level 6
Level 6

Have 20+ 2802I with U Boot issue on a 5520WLC, have tried booting from different partition, but still the same.

Capture shows this, so not sure if corrupted.  But just keeps going round and round.

These are not under support, have seen Solved: 2802i AP blank NAND, how to recover? - Cisco Community but before I try this, want to see if there is a different way to fix

BootROM: Boot image signature verification PASSED

Please check if all the 20+ APs have the same issue.  If they have check the first seven digit of their serial numbers for a possible faulty batch.

From the logs it is trying to upgrade as it if downloading firmware. Boot is 8.10.196. what version is on the controller?

Are there other 2802s that have worked?

Some of these APs have been off line for a while, do to refurbs, not been able to gain access and may have missed a upgrade.

8.10.196.0 is what we are currently running on 5520s

Please note that the 5520 controller has an EOS date of January 31, 2027. Consider migrating to the C9800.

I am not a Cisco employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

Got 9800s already, just the old thing called licences, before can migrate.

Cheers for that, that looks like a hardware fault according to google, so should be covered under lifetime warranty, I'll run it by our account manager cheers
