Hello. I have a 3702i in autonomous mode, and am trying to enable 80MHz 802.11ac on the 2nd radio interface ("interface Dot11Radio 1"). I am noticing that I am unable to select any 40MHz or 80MHz channels:
WAP(config)#interface Dot11Radio 1
WAP(config-if)#channel ?
<36-5825> One of: 36 40 44 48 149 153 157 161 165 5180 5200 5220 5240 5745
5765 5785 5805 5825
dfs Use Dynamic Frequency Selection
width Bandwidth used
According to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels#5.C2.A0GHz_.28802.11a.2Fh.2Fj.2Fn.2Fac.29.5B17.5D
All of the available channels are only 20MHz.
When I try to set the "channel width" to 80MHz, the command enters, but does not appear to be functional. The GUI reports the width to be 20MHz, and all 802.11ac clients I've tried are only able to see 173mbps from the Aironet, no matter which channel I select.
Any idea what's going on here?

channel width 80
channel 5825
You have selected channel 5825 (CH165) for radio 1. This channel cannot use to bond 40MHz or 80 MHz width as it is isolated 5GHz channel.
Use channel 36 ,52 or 149 if you want 80MHz width (or else leave it to default & let AP to choose the preferred channel)

Excellent thank you.
In a related manner, the highest data rate I have seen a client connect with is ~866mbps. Is this the maximum expected rate of the AP, or could it support higher? (I imagine with a "Wave 2" module..._

I think it may be your client capability, by looking at the below table, your device may be 2 spatial stream 11ac device which has max 866.7Mpbs data rate.

Hello,
Wave 1 you can get you to 1.3 but that requires a supported client. Many times you will find the AP is much more capable than the wifi client. Example WAVE2. There are so few clients out as I type. :)
