3850x (MC) does not support 3802i AP

Hello,

Getting this message. Is this really the case and the AP is not supported by the 3850x (MC)?

*%CAPWAP-3-DISC_UNSUPPORTED_AP: 1 wcm:  Rejecting discovery request from unsupported AP xxxx.xxxx.xxxx

AP Model is AIR-AP3802I-A-K9

Switch Model is WS-C3850-48F-S with software 3.7.3E

I have downloaded the latest software 3.7.4E but see nothing in the release notes about newly supported APs so I haven't bothered to apply it just yet.

This AP model is not yet supported in IOS-XE codes. Refer below link table 2

I spent two days trying to make this AP work with MC 3850.

is it still not supported?

What software version you used ?

It is supported in 16.3.x version onward. Here is the release notes for the same

thank you for your quick response, I will download the new IO XE code with Denali and let you know. what about cisco 4510R+E with sup8e?  is there any IOS XE Denali 16.3?

I agree with Rasika.  2802/3802 will be supported with Denali 16.3.  Release date is still unknown.
