Here is my scenario. I bought a Cisco 1841 with a HWIC-3G-GSM module in as a failover router for a very remote site in South Africa. I did the config in my lab where 3G/HSDPA is available. Everything runs good, get an IP from ISP and everything.
On the remote site there is only EDGE available. The Status of the network showed normal (show cellular 0/1/0 network), but it doesn't give me much other info. Like the country and Network is blank. No profiles become active and my interface stays down.
The EDGE works on my phone as well as on a USB 3G Modem(EDGE).
I spoke to the ISP and they confirmed that there are a standard 900MHz signal.
The band selection is on auto. Is there something in the config that I missed? It is my first implementation on this and I need some expert advise.
