5508 - Is there somethng wrong with 8.0.110.0??

Hi Everybody

I look after over 40 5508s WLC and we have upgraded a few of them to 8.0.110.  We have had 2 in the last week die.  when I say die I mean we loose everything the units no longer even respond on the console port.  Both of the controllers in question have worked seamlessly for over 3 - 4 years and never had a problem.  The Controllers just started rebooting and have eventually died.  These controller aren't even on the same network, not even on the same WAN.  Both locations where it has happened have second controllers so there is no issue for the end users but two loose 2 controllers like this is just unheard of.

Also, the lights come on after a physical power recycle but that's it.  Nothing on any of the interfaces.

Is anybody else having this problem?

Is there something very wrong with 8.0.110.0?

Never seen or heard of a problem what you've faced.

Cisco released a maintenance firmware, 8.0.115.X, on 23 February 2015.  You could try it out.

If the controllers crash, there should be a crashinfo or crashlogs available.  Can you find it and post it here?

Sorry no crashinfo or crashlogs as the boxes are now both a box with a couple of LEDs on the front and nothing else, not even console output from a power cycle.

I did look the other day for a new release but there wasn't one, I will now have another look.  I am awaiting to see what Cisco does with the TAC cases for the two dead boxes.
