We have several 5508 controllers, most can be remotely managed from most offices, which is useful for receptionists to access to create guest accounts. However we have one controller that can only be managed locally. Is there a security access list that could be preventing remote access?

Just to add... if you can access the WLC locally with no issues, then there is something else blocking and not an issue with the WLC.

-can you still ping and SSH/telnet to the WLC or just locally as well ?
-does it happens the same with either HTTP or HTTPS? ( make sure both are enable on the WLC itself )

you can ping the WLC remotely and the remote APs are all connecting to it.
SSH/telnet and https are failing remotely (we disable http)

Make sure ACL are configured correctly and its reachable from the local site and if you are able to locally configure it then only thing blocking is the ACL you can try if you can reach the port using any scanning tools also.
