Hi,
I currently have Cisco 1100 AP's in my network normally used by wireless users for non voice applications. The AP's are running IOS 12.3(4)JA.
I have bought a couple 7920 phones as a trial for voice over the wireless. The phones are running firmware version 7920.4.0-01-0.
When the phone is switched on it associates with the
AP fine. However when attempting to roam to another AP it does not associate at all. Even in the site survey the next AP is not even shown or if it is it comes up with an (N) and a strong signal.
If you try and move back into the AP that worked when you switched the phone on the display states
an Authentication Failed. There is no authentication configured for the SSID and the only way to reconnect is to power off and on the phone.
The channels between the 2 test AP's are set manually to 1 and 6. Same SSID , Same VLAN, No authentication on each. The same problem occurs on all the 7920 phones that we have tested.
I realise that previously in this forum people have had problems roaming. Has anyone got a solution to this problem or idea's.
