Hi,
I have a 857 and I would like to setup as repeater of a toshiba wireless router.
Could my 857 work as a repeater? What would be the difference beteween a device working as repater and a link with WDS?

Hello Sir,
ISR857 can act as a repeater.
The differnce between a repeater and a AP that paritcaptes in WDS is that the WDS slave AP is a tpical AP in root mode. And the AP would use the WDS to get users authentication informaton.
The repeater would require another AP that the 857 would be repeating for, and therefore extending the range of the WiFi network.
Hope this helps.

Hi Aaron,
Thx for the reply. I've got the other AP a toshiba wrc-1000, this would be my root AP. And I would like to have my CISCO857 as repeater of the cisco router.
Could you please give a brief explanation how I could set it up? What parameters in the config would be needed?
Thanks again,
Enrique
