Greetings,
I would like to find out if Cisco will include in their ACU, the function to view the available APs in an area when conducting site surveys? This will be useful when all the APs are deployed and the Network Engineer can view what APs can be detected in that area, their info & signal strength.
Agape,
Kwok

In the newer versions of firmware for the client adapters there is capability to detect rogue access points. I do not think you can see there signal strengths as usually when doing a site survey it is for a new install and you usually have one AP that you place in different locations to determine the best coverage. http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/wireless/airo_350/350cards/windows/firmrn/fmw50220.htm

Hi Kwok,
We use Netstumbler to view multiple APs in an area.
It work well with the cheap orinico cards. But I have seen it working with Cisco cards with certain firmware version.
