Hello,

Could someone please help me to understand the following in Cisco Aironet 1852e-k-k9:

1. What is the maximum range of this model ?

2. What will be advantage of External Antennas, if it extend the range; what will be the range it extend if we put 4 external antennas?

Thanks

Depends on what kind of antenna, height of the antenna, Tx power set, down/up angle of the antenna, radiation pattern.

You can "shape"the coverage area.

No one can really tell you what the coverage would be, because your environment would be different from others. This is where a site survey would come in play. A site survey can determine the coverage of an AP at a certain power level. The walls and furniture will attenuate the signal and that calculates into the coverage for 2.4ghz and 5ghz. External antenna are used in higher mounting locations and or when special antennas are required. Indoor AP’s with lower ceiling typically use the internal.
