Access Point DNS name?

Is there a wireless LAN software that I can use with my laptop to find what the dns name of the access point that I am connected to? I am not looking for the SSID name.

It depends on your supplicant. CCX compliant wireless card can see the AP name if Aironet IE is enabled. Other than that, not really.

Scott thanks for responding so quickly. I have been using a laptop with the following card that has CCX version 4.00. This has been working great.
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
But you have answered my question for the other laptops.
