I just changed the Ip address of a 1300 series radio from 192.168.20.248 to 192.168.30.235.  Now I can't access it on either ip. I've even tried 10.0.0.1

I have connected through hyper terminal but don't know any commands that work. the ones on the Cisco website don't work for me.

what am I doing wrong?

Did you also change the default gateway?

You can do a show run command or a show ip interface brief.

If you need to reset the AP

yes I had changed it as well.

You are consoled into the ap so you would have to go to enable mode

AP>en

Hit enter

Username and Password should be Cisco

Once you are in privilege mode AP#

enter show run and post your config.

can you be more specific about the show run command or show ip interface brief?

These are commands you enter from the CLI. You are connected to the console port correct?

yes, I'm connected through the console port.

I tried both AP>en and AP

AP returned

"Translating "AP"...domain server (255.255.255.255)

% Unknown command or computer name, or unable to find computer address

AP>en went straight to

% Unknown command or computer name, or unable to find computer address

I also tried reconnecting through the ethernet port on a PC with the TCP/IP set to a static IP on the same domain

and got nothing

When you console into the AP an hit enter a couple times, you will see the prompt name followed by a ">"

Example: ap01>

You need to get to privilege mode so at the prompt of your ap, just type:

enable

Hit enter

Now you need to enter a username and password. This is:

Cisco with a capital 'C'

Let's see if you get this far. Post what's on your screen.

Ok Scott,

Sorry about that, this radio is named SPARE so that's what I had there.

Yes , i've logged on now.

Is there a Cisco page with instructions and line commands to help me set it up this way?

I'd rather do it through the ethernet using the GUI and Express Setup but whatever so I can get this box working.

Thanks

Look at this link

Here is a doc on resetting the AP via the cli if you want to go that route.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/1300/12.3_7_JA/configuration/guide/b37frst.html#wp1084706

You could always configure the ip address from the cli too.

If you enter this command:

Show run

Can you save the output into a text file so we can see what might be wrong.
