Hello, My customer have Ap's AIR-AP1042N-T-K9 models, and need to convert LWAP to use them on a controller, but needs an official Cisco documentation to perform.
I found many posts with the statement that this is possible, but no official document from Cisco.
Someone already made this conversion successfully and found that documentation?
Thanks
Marcio Ferreira

Go and download the CAPWAP IOS (called Recovery Image) from the Cisco website.
Unpack the IOS into the AP using the command "archive download-sw tftp://[TFTP IP address]/filename.tar".
Boot the AP.
Make sure you have enabled DHCP Option 43 and/or 60 so it'll be easy to get your AP to find the WLC.

Thank you Leo, but you would have a link or Cisco documentation for this specific model (AIR-AP1042N-X-K9 )?
is a requirement of the customer :/
