One of my interns was sent to diagnose an access point being out of service. They cycled the POE to the device but it would still not work corectly. They noticed that the LEDs of the device were RED for ethernet and green for radio. The center LED was not illuminated. According the intern (it's his 3rd week) he googled how to reset the device and read that all he needed to do was remove power, hold mode down, then reapply power while holding the mode button down and after 30 seconds it would be reset. So he did just that, and none of the LED's came on. So he power cycled the device and now all three LED's come on RED and the device is a paperweight.
Is there any way to fix the AP or is it dead?

Hi Nathan:
All red LEDs on a 1250 looks like a software failure.
Checking the Access Point LEDs
Probably just getting it to an easy place to work, then Reloading the Access Point Image will take bring it back to life.

Yeah, it's apparently got a DRAM issue and is dead. Atleast the radio board is probably still good and can be used elsewhere.

Check if you can get the unit RMA-ed. If you do, you might be given a choice of getting the same model or the 1262.
