Hi,
can anybody help me please.
I have an AIR-AP1832I-E-K9 AP its configured to CAPWAP mode always searching for a WLC, but I would like to use it as an "home AP" without any WLC like a stand alone wireless emitter.

I found a couple of articles how to convert it to mobility express, I downloaded the ME SW but I can not convert it since the AP is not able to recognize the command what is normally used for staring the conversion:
AP#ap-type mobility-express tftp://10.51.11.20/AIR-AP1830-K9-8-10x-185x-0.tar
ap-type mobility-express tftp://10.51.11.20/AIR-AP1830-K9-8-10x-185x-0.tar

- One possibility is that the AP was used on 9800 controller , where the then installed capwap images no longer provide this command. So then you would first need to install an aireos based capwap image on it , if at all possible.
Basic conclusion : revert to the home market product range for home wifi use , another point being that the model is or was EOL , potentially not offering modern wireless speeds,

Hi,
thanks a lot for advise.
I was checking, these AP’s should be supported until 2027, so they shouldnt be EOL.
Do you think its possible to re-install the AP with an aireos based capwap image? Any clue which one exactly is working with this AP model or how to do it.
thanks
