2.4 Ghz is about 50 metres with the following environmental scenario:

  1. All WiFi settings, including data rates, are set to their defaults
  2. Zero co-channel interference
  3. Flat, open fields with zero attenuation in between.
  4. AP is positioned correctly (height and orientation)

AIR-AP1852I-D-K9 this model how much area covered?

Hi Praveen

Coverage depends on many factor. At which place you will install AP ,measure how large an area is.

Wi-Fi signals can be absorbed by large obstructions(Environmental obstacles would include walls, glass, appliances, doors, ) You should go for the site survey.

If its helpful please response.

Although a virtual one could give you some hints, it's best for you to perform a physical site survey or ask an expert to conduct it for your deployment.

You looking for coverage where?  At home, in a warehouse, office building, basement?  A survey is the only way to measure the useable RF in your environment.  No one can tell you the exact coverage, because it varies.  As an example, a hospital can have great coverage in the hallways, but reduced coverage in the rooms.  A school the has cinder block walls might need access points in every other room or maybe even every room.

Two things you need to know when deploying wireless, your coverage (site survey) and density of clients in a given area.
