Curious if I could get some assistance with a few questions regarding using an Aironet as a WAP versus Bridge. I need a bridged solution to connect to network at a different building a few hundred feet away. I was planning on using something like a 1540 (internal antenna) on the outside of this newer structure in order to make the bridged connection to the access point in the nearest (existing) building. This new 1540 will then be wired back to switch and a few network drops will be ran inside this newer structure. In addition we are needing clients in this newer structure the ability to connect wireless as well. Would I need a separate wireless device on the inside of the structure configured as a WAP that in turn connects to the 1540 bridge or can the 1540 perform this functionality as well as bridging?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Hello,
I would use a bridge AP as per description you only need a point to point solution.
Using AP as a bridge you can also connect clients to the wireless and extend your network via AP Gi port.
The only concert is about using an AP with internal antennas, you should be using an AP for outdoors with external antennas so you can maximize the connection directing it to the parent AP.

hey ... no worries... no need to apologize.
From your description I picture the following:
WLC --- AP (local mode) ))) wireless connection ((( AP (bridge mode) == wired & wireless clients on the new building.
can you please confirm, if not lay out what you are looking for.
