AP Grouping

we are having 13 WLAN and having  one default AP group. If am adding one more AP group pass only few SSID ,will it improve the signal strength, any other performance ,reduce the load on the access points.

Having 5 and more SSID broadcasting (per AP) means a BAD wireless design.  Ideally, you'd want 4 SSID (and less) per AP for optimal performance.

If clients are roaming from one AP group to other will it disconnect.

If clients are roaming from one AP group to other will it disconnect.

Define "roaming"?  True WiFi roaming is continuous streaming of voice and video and walking joining one AP to another seamlessly.

Shutting the lid of a laptop and going to another location and opening the lid of the laptop does NOT constitute "roaming".  In a MARKETING parlance, it's roaming.  In TECHNICAL term, it's anything BUT roaming.

Let us say i am using smartphone and connected with test SSID and moving from APGroup1 to APgroup2(test ssid is available) .will test SSID reconnect?.

Yes and no.

If you've got very good signal coverage and signal overlap, YES.  If not, then you'll see drops.

If your wireless client has good wireless drivers, YES.  If not, your wireless client will "stick" to an AP until the signal is extremely weak and "switch" to another AP.  When this happens, you'll see drops.

Thanks to leo for providing the suggestion.

we have created AP group and broadcast three SSID but we are facing signal issue.

we have placed additional access point in the said location and also replace from AIR-CAP2602E-N-K9 to AIR-CAP2702I-D-K9.

These are setting in our WS-SVC-WISM2-K9 with AP & client SSO enabled.

TPC Maximum power level 17dbm

TPC Minimum power level 10dbm

Power Threshold -67

DCA  enabled ED RRM

software version - 7.6.130.0

Signal is weak on smart phones ,please help on this.

AIR-CAP2602E-N-K9 to AIR-CAP2702I-D-K9.

Something is not right here.  What countries are the APs deployed in?  Two APs have different Regulatory Domain.

India. one access point having external and other internal antenna.Do we need to increase any power level parameters .

Shut down the radios of the 2602E and use different wireless clients to measure the signal strength of the 2702I.

Stand within line-of-sight of the AP from a distance of 5 metres.

Do NOT use just a single wireless client.  Use multiple wireless clients:  Smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.

If you're trying to "roam" between the two APs then a lot can go wrong.  This is more evident when dealing with an AP with external antenna.  The variables of loosing wireless coverage due to the external antennas just went up exponentially.

we are facing the issue inside the room and outside it working fine.It is stone building, even if the doors are open still is getting low or disconnected on mobile device but in laptop it fine .

looks like you are facing an sticky client condition. I was wondering if you are using WLC or not

Yes,mobile phones are badly affected with low signals. We are using WISM2 with 7.6.130 code on 6509E switch.

Agree with Leo.

Refer this to understand impact of having many SSIDs
