Hi Juan,

I have this problem too, but in AP model AIR-CAP3702E-E-K9.

Did you resolve this problem somehow ?

I can add some more messages from syslog:

*Apr 22 23:21:08.319: Failed to read from HW TRNG

*Apr 22 23:21:08.319: HW TRNG failed!

*Apr 22 23:21:08.319: HW TRNG failed!

*Apr 22 23:21:08.319: %ENTROPY-0-ENTROPY_ERROR: Unable to collect sufficient entropy

It seems like some hw problem, doesn´t it ?

We are seeing this same sequence of events as well on AIR-CAP2702I-E-K9 with software image  (AP3G2-K9W8-M), Version 15.3(3)JBB6

*May 24 11:02:40.043: Failed to read from HW TRNG

*May 24 11:02:40.043: HW TRNG failed!

*May 24 11:02:40.043: HW TRNG failed!

*May 24 11:02:40.043: %ENTROPY-0-ENTROPY_ERROR: Unable to collect sufficient entropy

for the Entropy error, I found this: https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCur63031/?referring_site=ss

Which pretty much states, "try turning it off and on again" - fixed in 8.3.

But I am finding nothing on the other lines.

Yeah, the bug id CSCur63031 was opened because I saw this problem here on support forum reported by many months ago and Cisco does not act at all.

What does Cisco have this forum for ? So customers demands to solve it, because Cisco could not or does not want to solve it on own.

Remote or console into the AP and delete the directory which contains the CAPWAP image.  Leave the "rcv" directory alone.

Commands to delete the CAPWAP directory are:

1.  debug capwap console cli

2.  delete /f /r flash:<directory>

3.  Reload.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for the reply but I am not sure how applicable it is to this situation.  The "HW TRNG Failed" message is the hardware Random Number Generator.  We are seeing the same problem with code release 8.2.x and our AP's are not complaining about image download issues.

For that matter, we tried wiping an affected AP and letting it re-image. It ran for some time and then we started seeing these errors crop up again.
