can we pre-download ap service pack to the ap's , i dont think so.

i am upgrading my regional controllers in Dc1 and Dc2 ,  currently my ap's are on backup wlc running 17.12.4 and the primary also running 17.12.4 .  now i need to install ap service pack without having any downtime so i tried doing a pre-download of ap service pack using the below commands , but nothing happens.   i came across cisco articles which advises to have mobility tunnels but apart from that is there anyway ?

wireless profile flex xxx

predownload

Yes, it can be done

do u have some commands which can help accomplish this ?

@marce1000 is right.  I was mistaken.

I was thinking of Hitless Upgrade with AP Pre-Download feature present with APSP.  It is not.  There is a Hitless Upgrade component but there is no AP Pre-Download component in APSP.

  - @atifali.zaidi1      I don't think you can do that for service packs ; for a per site solution have a look at :
                              https://community.cisco.com/t5/wireless/can-we-do-ap-predownload-in-advance-while-installing-apsp/m-p/5245237/highlight/true#M279629    (LINK corrected!)

When the mirror will then always repond to me with ' The only thing that exceeds your brilliance is your beauty! '

if the primary and secondary are in N+1 you can use the rolling AP upgrade to avoid downtime.

@atifali.zaidi1 what APSP are you trying to upload?  You stated you are running 17.12.4 on both controllers, but the latest ASPS is for 17.12.5, so I assume you are going to use one of the APSP for 17.12.4? If you look at the release notes for the APSP, there is an AP reboot required.

"APs will proceed to update images and go with staggered reboot."

I applied 17.12.5 APSP1 to a dozen APs and they all went into a simultaneous reboot.  All of them.
