AP Speed - Basic vs. Enabled question

I set up my AP with internal 802.11 b radio for Basic-5.5 and Basic-11.0 and disabled the other speeds.

If I only have 11 Mb/s clients, I'm assuming that the AP will transmit the Beacon at 11 Mb/s. However, if one of my clients roam and can only support 5.5 Mb/s transmission, I'm assuming that the Beacon (for all clients) will now be sent at the lower speed of 5.5 Mb/s. Is this correct?

If I did not configure the 5.5 Mb/s speed as Basic but instead configured it as Enabled, I'm assuming that the Beacon would only be sent at 11 Mbps and the client that roamed would not be able to work since it would never see the Beacon. Is that correct?

Thanks

Hi:

Beacons are transmitted for the benefit of associated stations and for the benefit of stations that might associate. In order to be heard by both groups beacons are transmitted at the lowest supported rate.

Thanks. /criss
