AP1121-G can associate but no network access

I have a 1100 AP with 802.11g. My computer uses 802.11b network adapter. I can associate with the AP, but have no network access.

What is the possible reason ?

Hi JHCC:

The order of events for most 802.11 client communication is:

powerup/initialize

scan/probe for service set(s)

join selected service set

authenticate with AP (the open auth kind)

associate with AP

maybe EAP authenticate if rather modern

communicate using agreed encryption cipher and key

acquire IP configuration via DHCP

Your problem is in one of the last three steps.

You will have to look at the configuration of the AP to determine if there are,

1. any wep keys configured in the AP

2. any form of authentication is configured (EAP)

3. Do you use static addressing or DHCP ? You can configure your AP to act as a DHCP server if needed.

AP 1100 does not come with a 802.11g Radio. Please do a show dot11 assoc.

First I have implemented LEAP, I can associate to the AP but I don't have network access. Then I clear all authentication/encryption configuration and tryed again. I can associate to the AP but don't have network access. The IP Address was manually configured. The AP is AP1121-G and I can only see dot11-G radio band.

Is the VLAN mapped to your SSID being trunked to the switchport connecting to your AP?

If you are only using one VLAN for all, can you ping the BVI1 interface from your wireless client?
