I have a quantity of 5 APs to install and I had to factory reset the AP because it does not advertise its SSID when it boots up.
My questions are as follows:-
1. Since I can get into the console port, is there a default config file I can use to manually configure these APs?
2. Is there a Gui that I can use to do the same? If yes, what is the procedure and login info?
3. If I wanted to use the WLCs, what model should I consider to purchase?
Thank you

- As far as the last question is concerned you need a controller which is compatible with the particular ap-model :
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html
Once a controller is used, the AP's are configured by the controller settings for SSID/WLAN/etc.

cisco AP 1562 comes with two diff kind of software images .
Cisco Mobility Express - These APs are able to chose the controller among themselves and work without hardware WLC
Lightweight AP Software - If you have this image on APs then you will need a seperate WLC to manage, configure these APs

The only way is to get onto a ladder and console into the APs -- no other way.
