Is their a good default setting for this?
My current setting is:
Optimize Radio Network For: "custom"
1.0 no
2.0 no
5.5 basic
11.0 yes
Optimize Radio Network For: "throughput" sets
all rates to "basic".
Is one better than the other?
Thanks

The settings depend on your needs. If you want maximum throughput, then selecting "throughput" under the Optimize Radio Network For: section is the best.If you want to optimize the range then you would select "range".
Here is an exerpt from the URl below:
"The access point always attempts to transmit at the highest data rate set to Basic. If there are obstacles or interference, the access point steps down to the highest rate that allows data transmission. For each of four rates (1, 2, 5.5, and 11 megabits per second), a drop-down menu lists three options: "
The following URL explains the different settings.

I assume this means to get the highest throughput,
but reduce the distance of access to the AP, then
a setting of: yes yes basic basic
would work pretty good. I do not want to many PC's
accessing the same AP, so i need maximum throughput
with a shorter range. My AP's are using 50mw with
the PC's using 30mw.
Thanks for your help.
