BVI ip address

I would like to connect 2 switches through a wireless bridge on my VLAN network but vlan 1 which is the native vlan has no ip address asigned to it. A seperate vlan (vlan 2) is use to manage the switches. Both bridges will be connected to trunk ports. Documentation states the BVI is associated with the native vlan interface and must have an ip address in the same ip subnet assigned to vlan 1. Do I need to add an ip address to vlan 1 to meet this requirement?

BVI 1 does need an IP address, and it does normally need to be the native VLAN, but it DOESN'T need to be VLAN 1.
