C9115AX passive client function is not working

I used to have a WLC controller. Recently, I bought a new C9115AX to replace the old WLC.

The new C9115AX is connected to another brand of Client device. I want to access my pc connected to the client through C9115AX. But cannot succeed. The connected client table only shows the client IP but no pc IP.

I enabled the passive client function and it works on my old WLC controller but not the new C9115AX. Is there anything I need to config on my new C9115AX?

  - If you are using EWC , check verify the configuration with the CLI command : show  tech   wireless , have the output analyzed by  https://cway.cisco.com/tools/WirelessAnalyzer/  , please note do not use classical show tech-support (short version) , use the command denoted in green for Wireless Analyzer.               Checkout all advisories!

I think the notes in this bug https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvy21664 will answer your question - not supported.

There's also a hidden bug https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvr24428 which you can see in bug search results:

CSCvr24428 9800 WLC - Support for passive clients for Flexconnect LS traffic
Symptom: 9800 WLC - Support for passive clients for Flexconnect LS traffic Conditions: Passive client being used and AP is Flex mode and Locally switching traffic. Workaround: None Further Problem Description:
Severity: 6
Status: Other
Updated: Jul 10, 2021
Cases:6
This seems to be a feature enhancement bug for adding support for passive client (on flex local switching) but the fact that it hasn't been touched for more than a year suggests it's not high in Cisco's priorities.  If you have Cisco support then raise with TAC and/or your account team to register your interest in the feature.  If lots of customers ask for it Cisco are more likely to work on it.

PS:  I just noticed the EWC FAQ has been updated recently... EWC will not be supported on 6E and newer APs so EWC will be end of life when the WiFi 6 APs go end of life.  This means Cisco will also minimise or even stop any new developments on EWC so unlikely this will ever be supported in my opinion.

It is for 9800 WLC model, not C9115AX EWC.

Are they the same?

 - Note that EWC only supports access points in flexconnect mode , in that case https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvy21664 , would even be more applicable.

Yes they are one and the same:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/catalyst-9800-series-wireless-controllers/nb-o6-embded-wrls-cont-ds-cte-en.html
"With the 9800 Series wireless controller embedded on the Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points" - as far as Cisco is concerned EWC is a 9800 series WLC running on the AP.
