I have an AP AIR-CAP2602E-A-K9 and a WLC 2504 with software 7.5.102.0. The problem is that the AP can't join this controller:
*Jun 11 11:57:02.411: %CAPWAP-5-SENDJOIN: sending Join Request to 10.3.10.40
*Jun 11 11:57:02.415: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Invalid event 10 & state 5 combination.
*Jun 11 11:57:02.415: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: CAPWAP SM handler: Failed to process message type 10 state 5.
*Jun 11 11:57:02.415: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Failed to handle capwap control message from controller
*Jun 11 11:57:02.415: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Failed to process encrypted capwap packet from 10.3.10.40
I don´t think it is a software version problem but I will upgrade the WLC to version 7.6.120.0 anyway.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks in advanced.

Hi,
Regulatory domain and wireless software compability is ok.
Can you paste the entire logs from cisco AP.
And I think if its brand new AP then it must be with Mesh image.
May be AP came as a MESH Mode AP. Add the MAC address of that ap to the WLC in the Mac filter list. The ap should then join and you can change it from MESH to normal.
Hope it helps.

The only thing left to consider is that your WLC is configured for the wrong regulatory domain. Post the WLC output to the command "sh sysinfo".

HI,
Please paste the output of these commands:
From WLC: sh sysinfo
From AP: sh version

Hi,
*Jan 8 00:49:57.131: %MESH-6-CAPWAP_RESTART: Mesh Capwap re-started
Add the MAC address of the MAP to the MAC filter table. In order to do this, choose security > AAA > Mac Filtering > Mac Address / Wlan Id. and then change back to normal mode.

I had the "radius authorization is pending for the ap" message, but after I added the MAC address of the AP to the MAC filter table, the AP finally join the controller, thanks for your help :)
06-17-2014 05:48 AM
Yes, Thats the error message comes when you dont have mac address of AP in mac filter list(In case of mesh AP).
I am glad that finally you resolved the issue.

I added the AP MAC under WLC GUI>>Secuirty>>AAA>AP policies>>Add> (AP mac addr)
