Hi,

I bought Cisco CAP2702E-E-K9 model access point for our company. I have 5 old Casio DT-X11M10E handheld terminals which working 802.11b wireless card. Now, the handheld terminals are working with Cisco 1242AG access point. So, we couldn't connect the handheld terminals with the CAP2702E-E-K9. I was installed autonomus IOS to CAP2702E-E-K9 and I configured the AP. Because we don’t have any controller. The handheld terminals didn’t work with this wireless. Is the new AP compatible with 802.11b wireless? How can I connect with 802.11b wireless? Because I didn’t see any a or b wireless configure in web interface. I just saw n anda c configure. Can anybody help me how can I fix this?

Can you paste your config for the 2702E AP? What antennas are you using with it? If you do a show ip int brief is the dot11radio0 up?

Thanks,

Ric

Hi Ric, thanks for your return. I use all of antennas (abcd). And yeah, the dot11radio0 is up. You can find the config below. I used command for dot11. Because you can't arrange this config with web interface.

Hey,

I was hoping to know what antennas you were using because they could be 5GHz only.. clutching at straws a bit there!

Can the terminals see the SSID TEST? What is the make/model of the terminal?

In fact do you have the config for the 1242 to compare against?

Cheers,

Ric

Try allowing only 802.11b data rates and check.

older clients don't work usually work with Cisco newer 802.11n/ac APs (I don't know why). They may need firmware upgrade.

Try this command under radio0 interface, which allows only 802.11b data rates and let us know if the devices can connect or not.

# speed  basic-1.0  2.0  5.5  11.0

Hi Amjad, thanks for your answer. Actually, it should support old version. When I use 802.11n, 802.11b/g/n should connect with the device. Normally, you can arrange 802.11b/g/n publication with controller if you use it. But I don't have any controller. I can use only 802.11g or only 802.11n, but I can't use all of them like 802.11b/g/n. Because the web interface doesn't has this config as controller.

I used last release ( https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286256842&flowid=50362&softwareid=284180979&release=15.3.3-JD4&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=ED&reltype=latest ) in the device.
