CBW142ACM Mesh Extender keeps disconnecting from Access Point

Hi community,

I just purchased a Cisco CBW145AC Access Point and a CBW142ACM Mesh Extender.

The access point is located in my living room, powered with a PoE injector (Cisco Business PoE Injector). The extender is on the second floor, basically just vertical to the access point.

It all works fine, except that the mesh extender keeps disconnecting and blinking (red amber green). It happens randomly, especially when I'm in Teams meetings and working remotely with my team.

Here is what I see in the logs:

*osapiBsnTimer: Jun 13 14:44:46.894: %DTLS-3-HANDSHAKE_FAILURE: openssl_dtls.c:3241 Failed to complete DTLS handshake with peer 192.168.1.91
*spamApTask0: Jun 13 14:42:44.880: %CAPWAP-3-CCO_ASD_LOG_ERROR: spam_lrad.c:103634 CCO ASD logging failed on AP-MAC 14:16:9d:26:10:6c, reason: Index not found unable to delete tmp log

*spamApTask0: Jun 13 14:42:44.874: %WLAN-3-AP_DISCONNECTED: capwap_ac_sm.c:8531 AP1416.9D26.106C is disconnected.
*spamApTask0: Jun 13 14:42:44.873: %CAPWAP-3-MAX_RETRANSMISSIONS_REACHED: capwap_ac_sm.c:8487 Max retransmissions reached on AP(14:16:9d:24:e6:40),message (CAPWAP_CONFIGURATION_UPDATE_REQUEST ),number of pending messages(3)

SSH is enabled on my AP via the GUI but unfortunately I'm unable to connect:

ssh 192.168.1.74
Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive).

Link SNR (dBM) is above 20db. Interference level is quite insignificant.

It's one week that I'm losing my sleep on it, I tried to tweak the configuration (signal strength, RF optimization, etc...)  and I can't understand what's wrong; my next step would be to return AP and Extender to the seller. Anyone who can advice please?

Thank you and best regards.

Hi

The best advide I can give to you is run a cable between floor and put an access point on the second floor. With this eWLC functionality, you can manage and benefit from enterprise feature at home.

Extender is always a problem dont matter the vendor. And, probably you are seing the problem due the Teams now but is might happen all the time.

Agreed, running a cable between floors would be the best way of solving the issue.

I'm just wondering if there is any workaround so that the mesh extender won't disconnect and restart all the times. Maybe by changing some properties or increasing some timeout/latency somewhere. That would be good enough to me.

Thank you.
