Hi We setup HA in C9800 with version 17.3.5a, and got error message with command show chassis. Please see the below. Does it miss some step? Thank you

there are Software and Hardware version they must match.
the Hardware is mismatch here.

It is expected  reload during manual switchover with the command "redundancy force-switchover". Probably disconnecting the cable has the same effect.

"Manual Switchover
This is a user initiated forced switchover between the Active and Standby unit. The current Standby unit
becomes the new Active unit and when the failed system boots up, it will transition to Hot-Standby state.
To perform a manual switchover, execute the redundancy force-switchover command. This command
initiates a graceful switchover from the active to the standby controller. The active controller reloads and
the standby takes over as the New Active controller."

sh platform not working on  cisco 5520 controller

Hi

This can be related to packet.  Must be both bundle or install mode.

run "show version" on both sides.

@Flavio Miranda Thank you very much for your reply. Yes you are right. one is INSTALL, and another is BUNDLE. Why it happen? Initially both are same. we did not change it, but just upgraded ios and added SMU

Thanks. HA can work after the change. but when testing it(disconnect and connect HA link) WLC reboot automatically. Is this normal?

One more interesting question: after trying several times to disconnect and then connect HA cable, the Active one would take turn between the two WLC. Looks like the "Priority" value does not work. and do not know what decide which one would be Active in this case. Thanks
