Change SSID from Prime Infrastructure (PI)

We need to change the SSID of some of our WLAN's. On the most recent WLC versions, we're able to do this from the WLC GUI, but this seems to make the PI database out of sync. So...

Can we change the SSID directly from PI and push it to the WLC's?

Or

Can we change the SSID from the WLC's without causing problems?

PI Version 3.1.0.0.132

Thanks!

I don't think you can change WLANs name from Cisco Prime.

If you are using WLC with newer version of SW then you can change on WLC directly.

Or

Can we change the SSID from the WLC's without causing problems? Yes you can change but client will loose the connectivity. You need to connect the client again to new WLAN name.

If its not reflected on PI then you can Refresh config from controller to update PI. Its not a big issue.

Sandeep, thanks for your help. I have a follow up question.

When we changed the SSID name from the WLC, the change wasn't reflected in PI. This seems like it could cause problems (WLC not being in sync with PI). Should we be worried about this?
