Hi

I have a client whose requirement is to connect 3 branches to a head office within a distance of 1 Km with 54Mbps the maximum and 9 Mbps the minimum. I decided to go for Cisco bridge 1410 BR, but i m lil bit confused what exactly to order? can anybody tell me the solution?

You probably need to talk to the local sales team. There are two kind of 1310:

AIR-BR1310G-A-K9 (comes with an integrated antenna)

AIR-BR1310G-A-K9-R (requires an external antenna)

You may need to order grounding block if you install the bridges outdoor.

As far as range's concerns, please go to the following URL:

You definitely need at least 4 1310 bridges (one for the head office and one for each branches). The problem is that you need to find out if the integrated antenna is good enough. Also, not sure if you can run point to multipoint configuration. You need to do a site survey. If you cannot run point to multipoint, you need 5 bridges (one pair of point to point and another 3 bridges for point to multipoint) or 6 bridges (3 pairs of point to point link)

shoaib,

1400 series is based on 802.11a technology while 1300 series is based on 802.11b/g technology.

You should definitely do a site survey before doing the install. Also use a spectrum analyzer or Airmagnet to scan the area around you for other access points. This will help you to decide to go for 802.11a/b or g depending on the amount of interference you are receiving in your offices.
