Hi all,
It would appear in an attempt to factory reset a Cisco 1602i access point that we have changed the AP to lightweight mode.
How do we revert this back to autonomous without downloading a new IOS image?
It strikes me as a bit odd that we could change to lightweight mode using the existing IOS using the mode button, but we cannot change back without downloading the same IOS image that came pre-loaded on the access point?
The model number of the AP is AIR-CAP1602i-E-K9
EDIT: I should say, I have searched and read the posts on this forum about correcting this, but it always involves downloading an IOS - which we don't have access to on Cisco's site. How can it let us change to one mode, then doesn't give us access to correct it? Seems bizarre! We do have some working AP's of the same model, wondering if we can somehow copy the IOS from a working AP and get it onto the one that's stuck in LW mode?
Any help appreciated!

hi,
you could extract (via FTP/TFTP) the k9w7 IOS from your existing/working autonomous APs.
you can still use the MODE button technique and rename the IOS to ap1g2-k9w7-tar.default
just have a PC running TFTP and set it to 10.0.0.2/8.
see helpful link for the same ordeal for converting APs:

Without having the right autonomous image file, you are stuck. No other way
