Cisco 2500 wireless lan controller

Hi,

we recently purchased cisco 2500 seires wireless lan controller and it is not connected to our network. I am using a  cable between management port and access controller to access the box fromGUI. when i am assigning vlan identifier as 0 i can access the controller but when i am assigning it to different Vlan Identifier i cannot access the controller. can you please advise why i cant access it when it is on different vlan identifiers.

When you tag a vlan on controller management, make sure that vlan is tagged on your switch as well. For example wlc management should NOT be on vlan x if your switchport configuration is like this.

switchport 
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q 
switchport trunk native vlan X
switchport mode trunk
