Hi all,
I have a customer who is asking to change the local mode to flexconnect mode in his environment even though we are talking about a local network and not a remote office.
How can I handle this request?
Do I have to do the classic, enable flexconnect on every WLAN, flexconnect mode on every ap and then specify the vlans for the WLANs? Or in this specific case there's an other way?
On the switches we were using just the capwap vlan untagged (ie vlan 500), on the ports where the AP are connected. Now we have to tag every vlan (like vlan 500 untagged, vlan 100, 200, 300, 400 tagged), thats right?
Thank you in advance

You need to make sure the ap is connected to a trunk port and all vlans are spanned to these switches. Yes you will need to have the vlan's defined on the wireless also, change the mode to FlexConnect and SSID to central switching. You might have to think about your plan or test it out to determine your process for changes.
You should really ask why they want this design also? There are limitations in which you should bring up or know. These can be found in the FlexConnect guides.

Hi Scott, I did the configuration and its working fine on the SSID that are using PSK.
If I try to connect on an SSID that uses authentication with a radius server, it doesnt work, it keeps saying that I cannot authenticate. On the WLC the log says "AAA Authentication Failure for Client MAC: xxx UserName:yyy User Type: WLAN USER Reason: Authentication failed"
How can I solve this?
Thank you
Antonio

This is the application error on the Radius server:
Negotiation failed. Requested EAP methods not available
Did it happen to someone?
Thanks
Antonio
