Cisco-5508 WLC

Dear Team,

I am configuring a controller in Portugal and the Model of the AP  in the particular location is  AIR-CAP3702E-A-K9  from google I understood that the country code is of Canada . So i tried enabling two Country code  in the WLC but after that  also the AP ia not registering with the controller.

Also checked in the switch end , AP is getting IP address and the controller IP is reachable from the Switch.

Kindly provide clarification on the same.

Hi Thushara,

Here is the Cisco AP regulatory domain reference document

It is not recommended to configure countries in two different regulatory domain on the same WLC. Then WLC has to work out common channel & power level applicable to both these domain & due to this sometimes radios get disabled.

In your case, you have to get the correct regulatory domain AP to install in Portugal as regulatory requirement is different in EMEA region that to the North America.

You should upgrade to v7.6.130.0 as that image your in isn't stable. Also you didn't upgrade your FUS to 1.9.0.0 like Rasika mentioned.  If your talking about backed my up the configurations, you can look at the WLC configuration guide as it will explain how to perform that. There is no need to backup the WLC image as you can always download that again. Access points gets upgraded when the join the WLC. If you have autonomous AP's, then search Google for:

Cisco autonomous to lightweight conversion

Yiu will find many ways to do this along with YouTube videos.  You can also search the forum for specifics if you run into issues.

but iam facing with a problem once it is asking for temp file second it said there is no file in such directory

Hi Assad,

If you want to implement IPv6, then best WLC code is 8.x. I would suggest you to wait for 8.0MR1 code to be released & then move on to that. Here is the IPv6 deployment guide of  that code

As I said earlier, 8.x is the code which added native IPv6 support on these WLC. So if you really want IPv6 that is the code to be.
