Hi All,
Can I use the Fa 4 (WAN) port to create several subinterface to do the vlan routing? I know 851 can't do it. Not sure about 871. Thanks.

Depends on the version of the IOS.
Version 12.3 will support up to 10 VLANs and 12.4 will support only 2 VLANs.

Thanks a lot! So even for the version supporting only two vlans, it can support subinterface on WAN port and do the vlan routing, right?

He he he ... No.
Here's what we did:
F4 is one VLAN and any other port has another VLAN.

Thanks Leo. It's not like the router on a stick inter vlan routing we usually can do. If I connect one 2960 switch to Fa0 and put Fa0 as a trunking port which allow all the vlans, can 871 do the vlan routing between the vlans in 2960?
Thanks.
Lou
