Cisco 871 Wireless connection problem

Hi I have set up this 871 router, and everything works fine except the wireless portion. The SSID is detectable, but no one can get connected to it. Please take a loot at the config and let me know what I did wrong.

The configuration looks good. I have a couple of questions here. Are the clients connecting to the 871 802.11g clients. Because in the configuration all the speed values are marked as require. This is because if yuou are using .11b clients you should not mark the OFDM rates as require. Also did you make sure that the VLAN configuration matches with that on the switch.

Thanks for the good tip. I made sure that speed values are marked for 'enable' instead of 'required'.

Hi

remove the sub-interface, and try the following

you can use the SDM to configure it,too.

(your "sh run int dot1 0" should looks as below; some commands are put by the SDM)

HTH

Karl

------------------------------------

interface Dot11Radio0

no ip address

ssid Loan1st

authentication open

guest-mode

speed basic-1.0 basic-2.0 basic-5.5 6.0 9.0 basic-11.0 12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0

54.0

bridge-group 1

bridge-group 1 subscriber-loop-control

bridge-group 1 spanning-disabled

bridge-group 1 block-unknown-source

no bridge-group 1 source-learning

no bridge-group 1 unicast-flooding

Appreciate your input!

I was wondering why the 870 User Manual showed an example with the dot11radio 0 sub interface.

I'll test this new configuration after I get back from my trip.

Thanks!
