Cisco Aironet 1140 Series standalone replacement

I have a 3 AP's (AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9) in the infra, which are working in standalone mode and needs to be replaced with the newer version. Based on my investigation it looks like 9120AX can be a best suite, however, not sure whether these work a standalone. Hence asking this question in the forum

Those news AP has the possibility of having an internal WLC if you want to build a small network for AP manageing.
