Cisco Aironet 1142 (to) Autonomous (mode) conversion

I am getting tired from hunting down every little detail.

I only have one simple question: HOW?

Please DO NOT link any other forum post or documentations if they are restricted to who the f*** knows people only.

EXPLAIN how to convert a CISCO AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 Wireless AP from Lightweight to Autonomous mode.

The AP only shuffles through RED-GREEN-AMBER LED and refuses any SSH/Telnet/HTTP(S) requests. (Yes, I did try resetting it)

I have received this AP from a business that was moving from one place to the other. I am only intending to use ONE AND ONLY ONE AP on my network. I have the tar file required for the conversion, but not even the company's IT experts cold help me convert it from one mode to the other.

What I have: Ethernet cables, PoE adapter, AP. (and a few managed switches) (A serial cable is on the way, but I can't really use it due to the LACK OF PROPER DOCUMENTATION)

Thanks in advance.

There are so many web pages which have detailed steps how to do this.  None of these pages are "restricted".  The only thing that was (past tense) restricted was the firmware.

Have anyone tried this: Converting Cisco Wireless Access Point from Lightweight Mode to Autonomous Mode and Vice Versa

Thanks for the fast reply.

That is a surprisingly detailed guide...

Also, do I need to hook up any power source to connect via the serial port? (DC Power supply, PoE)

PS: Sorry, I was a bit 'angry' yesterday.

The ap only needs to be powered up via an ac adapter or PoE. The usb to serial is just a straight connection to your laptop.

So how should my setup look?Serial -> PoE Adapter -> AP (console port)
or
Serial -> AP (console port) and PoE -> AP (ethernet port)
(or something like this?)

Your laptop > usb to serial adapter > AP console port

Power (ac or PoE) > AP to power up
