We've purchased 3 Cisco Aironet 1830 Series a/g/n/ac Access Points but without Mobility Express. Is mobility express a separate purchase or can this be added with no cost? Or, is there free controller software that can be downloaded and installed on a server that we can use to set up and manage these APs?

Thanks Flavio. Just to confirm, although the link you shared provides instructions for converting 1852 AP To Mobility Express Through CLI, these instructions will also work with 1830 AP?

Mobility express doesn't require any licenses, but to download the Mobility express software you might need a valid support contract. You can reach out to Cisco TAC if you have support contract or still reach out to TAC to see whether they can publish this for you. I would strongly recommend not to use any firmware or image available in the public domain as this is illegal and someone could have modified the code to steal sensitive information.
