cisco AP wIPS monitor mode

Hello Engineers,

I was wondering about WIPS function, so I am searching about this.

I found that I can setup the current AP I have to become a WIPS monitor mode on WLC.

This configuration is not familiar with me, so I'm worried about license issue. 

AP series what I have is 1260, 1850, 2800. It is possible that I change the configuration mode to WIPS some of APs what I have?

or Do I need to buy a license to use wIPS?

Moreover, If I change the AP mode to WIPS monitor, This AP works just as monitoring and de-authenticate right?

otherwise is could be working as local AP + WIPS?

Take a look at the wIPS guide as that will explain the design.  There is no additional license on the controller as it uses an ap license.
