Hi I'm new to the site. I represent a charity and have been given a Cisco WS-C2960X-48LPS-L switch. However because this is EOL there is no way I can now download the Network Assistant to manage it. I only need to do basic configuration. Can anyone who has "Network Assistant English Installer cna-windows-k9-installer-6-3-4-en.exe" let me have a link to download it - it would be much appreciated

Think I may have the answer (but no solution). POE on the switch is 48V. The modem takes a dc voltage of between 9 and 30V. I don't suppose there is a command to drop the voltage to 30V or less?

No you can't change the voltage on POE. POE only allows setting the max power level.
I guess that's what the converter does.

Teltonik
PoE (passive)
Possibility to power up through LAN1 port, not compatible with IEEE802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt standards, Mode B, 9 - 50 VDC
cisco suported IEEE802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt and not suported PoE (passive)

I thought that might be the case but thanks for all your help getting to the bottom this. I have seen some converter boxes that drop the power down from the POE switch but it makes more sense to just stick with my 24V injector. Thanks again. All the best. John

I've seen this setup before for non-PoE capable devices. The PoE splitter takes the 48V supplied by the switch and converts it to the right voltage for your device - something like the one in the attached screenshot.
I've seen devices that work with this setup and others that do not power up - like your modem - using the same PoE splitter and PoE switch.

Thanks LG I'm now thinking that it may be a compatibility issue between my splitter and the switch. I'm going to check this with the manufacturer of the Modem/Enclosure. But thanks again.

In case anyone has this issue in the future I've found this which looks quite cool and am going to give it a go:
Ubiquiti 802.3af 48v to 24v passive POE converter
