Hi,

I am looking for Cisco Outdoor Controller Based access point model. The WLC is Cisco 2500 Series.

I have checked couple of outdoor models but all are mesh access point. I am looking for  normal controller based outdoor access point ( just like controller based indoor access point models )

Thanks.

As long as you can provide adequate power to power up the APs, the MESH APs you found will also work as controller-based.

Hi Leo,

I didn't get what you mean by adequate power?. even in mesh mode they need power to power up?

MESH requires more power than indoor AP's. They usually have direct power or use a special power injector or AC power plug. The AP model data sheet explains the power requirements. That's what Leo is getting at.

Just to add to Leo... Cisco's outdoor access points are known as MESH AP's. They don't have an outdoor AP anymore. They use to have the 1300's and 1400's but they are end of sale. The 1532 along with the 1552's can be setup like a normal AP, but these are still known as MESH AP's.
